How long does it take to get a pair of glasses made?
At Optical Fashions the process of making a pair of glasses takes approximately 2-3 weeks for single vision lenses and 3-4 weeks for digital multifocals.

How often should I get an eye exam?

For adults age 18-60 it is recommended to get an exam every 2 years unless you have risk factors. For adults 61+ a yearly exam is recommended, and for children its recommended at least once from ages 3-5 and every 1-2 years from ages 5-17. It is also required for all contact wearers to get yearly exams to continue ordering contacts.

When can I resume my daily activities after eye dilation?
After eye dilation, it is normal to experience blurred vision and light sensitivity. We recommend avoiding activities that require clear vision for a few hours. Our team will provide specific guidance based on your individual reaction to the dilation.

How long does an average eye exam take?
An average eye exam at Optical Fashions typically takes around 30 minutes. We strive to be thorough yet efficient in our examinations to respect your time and ensure all your concerns are addressed.
Am I a suitable candidate for LASIK?
Determining suitability for LASIK involves a comprehensive evaluation of your eye health and vision. Our knowledgeable optometrists will assess various factors to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK and discuss alternative options if necessary.

Is it safe to drive after pupil dilation?
Pupil dilation can cause temporary vision changes, including sensitivity to light. It is advisable to have someone accompany you or use alternative transportation after pupil dilation, as driving may not be safe immediately afterward.

What is the difference between an optician, optometrist, and ophthalmologist?
-Optician: A licensed technician who fits eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision correcting devices.

-Optometrist: an eye care professional who performs eye exams, diagnoses eye conditions, and prescribes corrective lenses.
-Ophthalmologist: Performs the same care as an Optometrist but is licensed to perform eye surgeries such as LASIK, PRK and Cataract Removal.

Do you treat medical eye conditions?
Yes! We offer treatment for a variety of conditions such as abrasions, red eye, glaucoma, diabetes and floaters. We accept medical insurance for treatment of the above conditions.
